SUMMARY:Ohio River Conservation Course
DESCRIPTION:Registration is now open for the Ohio River Conservation Course (ORCC). This week-long course will focus on career exploration\, hands-on biology fieldwork\, habitat restoration\, networking with diverse professionals\, and fun and adventure exploring the Ohio River and its tributaries. We will wade in the water collecting live specimens and fish\, test water chemistry\, go electrofishing\, cruise the river on a boat\, get our hands dirty removing invasive plants\, kayak and so much more! \nThe ORCC will take place from 9 am – 3 pm Monday through Friday\, June 23-27\, 2025 or July 21-25\, 2025; participants will only attend one session. Participants will be dropped off and picked up from the Sanitation District No. 1 parking lot in Fort Wright\, Kentucky. Participants will bring a packed lunch each day. \nInterested students should apply no later than April 30\, 2025. There is a course fee of $175 for all participants\, although there may be 50% or 100% scholarships available for those who indicate need. \n*Please note it is not guaranteed that we will run both program weeks. Programs will only run if we meet a minimum of 10 students.*
